I received a walking and knitting sachel for xmas, thanks to (sweatergirl and her mom). I have used it a few times to knit in public (and on the couch too) and it works really well to contain the yarn and keep things untangled. But tonight is the
relay for relay for life and I am wondering, is it really possible to walk and knit at the same time? I am thinking for a really simple pattern that it is possible, but not for anything that I am working on right now. I think the stitches on socks are just too small to concentrate on both the knitting and the walking. So I will have to leave my knitting aside tonight and just do some walking. Plus blue said that he will not walk with me if I am knitting, apparently he has to deal with that at home too much (the knitting, not the knitting and walking).

Go for it! I like to walk and knit when I'm chasing H-bomb. And stand and knit while cooking dinner. It'll be a fun new trick!
oh no! i was waiting to get paid to donate! is it too late?
That's gotta be the cutest little thing I've ever seen. The funny thing about your question is that I've just posted about that on my blog just now.
It is possible to knit and walk. I've done it quite a few times in the past few days. I wouldn't suggest anything thats extremely complex that requires you to keep insane tabs of what stitches you have done. A simple pattern is possible. Also, I've found myself at times getting a little too involved in knitting that crossing the street could be dangerous. So yeah, becareful of cars. ^__^ Happy Knitting.
I know nothing about knitting but I'm still eating m&ms. They are so good. I wish I had some peanut butter eggs!
I used to walk and knit all the time, when I was an undergrad and took the bus everywhere. Was working on a fisherman sweater, and kept the yarn in my backpack and would pull it out as needed. Now, I knit on the treadmill or the exercycle, hanging the bag on the handrails. Never fell doing it, the way I occasionally do when walking and reading.....
